The ancient breed of Lhasa Apso was a popular watchdog amongst the Tibetan temples and ministries. The breed was so popular that even the Dalai Lama will give them as a gift to Chinese Emperors and the Imperial Family. Due to Lhasa Apso’s watchdog traits, they tend to be very protective of their owners and might be a little less friendly when it comes to strangers.
